| | Dir en grey - DECADE 2003-2007 | ] | Hey out there! I made it back from the wedding weekend in one piece, and not too much worse for the wear...
Friday was a mad scramble from start to finish, so there was no time to be online at all on Friday -- there was barely even time to sit still. But, I made it to Lafayette in time to make an appearance at the Ice Cream Social (in lieu of a wedding rehearsal dinner), and it was fun to visit with everyone.
Saturday was a pretty relaxed sort of day, and my Dad had his shiny new laptop with him, but I have decided that I really, truly hate the Vista OS, and using his new laptop is a nightmare because of Vista. Stuff isn't where it should be, and some relatively basic commands have either been moved or renamed ot vanished completely, and I had a hell of a time navigating anything, so I gave up pretty quickly.
The wedding was simple and fun and the dresses -- ZOMG the dresses were to die for. The bride's mother is a seamstress, and she and the bridal party designed and made all of the dresses, and every single one of them was gorgeous! I'm waiting for some of the pistures to be posted online, and then I'm going to post them, because the dresses were that amazing. I took a couple of close-ups of the bride's dress, and I'll post those later tonight (my phone is dead, and my charger is at home, so I can't get to the pictures right now at all).
I decided to cheat on the diet and eat the food at the reception, and I didn't even eat very much, but everything was so good and so rich that I ended up feeling really sick all night anyway. Blech. Some aspects of this diet thing are just no good at all. So I crashed early on Saturday, and was generally very boring.
We went to the wedding brunch on Sunday, and then drove to my brother's house for a visit and ate dinner there (back on Nutrisystem, so no weird stomach troubles yesterday!). And by the time I got home last night, I unpacked my suitcase directly into the washer, did some laundry, refused to clean up the kitchen, and vegged out in front of some anime before I crashed again.
Trinity Blood just sort of ends, doesn't it? But did I read somewhere that the creator of Trinity Blood intended it to be a trilogy, and the anime series is just the first part of the trilogy, but the creator passed away before anything else was completed? I think that was the gist of what I read about that, which would certainly explain the dramatic non-ending. It was really good, though. And I think Black Blood Brothers is just three volumes, even though I could have sworn that it just sort of non-ended at that point, too. I need to rent that one again and watch it a second time to make sure. Paradise Kiss is so phenomenally good that I can't wait for the third volume to get here later this week, because I just want to see what happens next! And I'm for sure going to start reading that manga, too! ^_^ I'm going to finish Mushi-shi tonight, and I'm looking forward to that one, too.
Work today has sucked so far, but I'm hoping that this afternoon will get better, though I don't really have any reason to believe that it will. Wishful thinking, I suppose.
I'm going to write for a little while, and then back to work, and then one more errand and I'll be back to normal later tonight (provided that I can stay awake). I tore up my not-so-bad knee yesterday (I tripped in the parking lot leaving the hotel), and it's pretty unstable today, but I was able to carefully exercise last night anyway, so I hope that it will continue to improve so that I can stop limping around pretty soon.
OK. That's all for now -- hope you all had a good weekend, and I'll be back again soon! ^_^ |
